HOw to Update WordPress:
Step 1:
If you are not already then log in to the admin area of your WordPress website.
Step 2:
Once logged into the WordPress dashboard of your website, look at the top of the page. If an update is available you will see a prompt update to the latest version.
Click on “Please update now”.
This will take you to the WordPress Updates page.
Step 3:
On the WordPress Updates page, If you see that ‘An updated version of WordPress is available’, click on “Update Now”.
Step 4:
Your website will now fetch the latest version of WordPress and install it for you.
Update progress will show on your screen. During the upgrade, WordPress will automatically put your site in maintenance mode.
Once the update is finished, you will be redirected to the WordPress welcome screen.
Well done! You have successfully updated WordPress to the latest version.
Update WordPress, alternative method
An alternative method of updating your website is to use the “Updates” tab on the left of your admin panel. This is useful if you do not see a prompt telling your update WordPress at the top of your dashboard
In the dashboard, navigate to the “Updates” tab on the left of you admin sidebar. This link will take you to the same WordPress updates page as in step 3 as listed above.
Continue your update as of step 3 of the primary method listed above.
